Data Scientist R&D Coatings (m/f/x)
Your responsibilities
  • Conduction of data analyses for experi­mental data­sets in close collabo­ration with team members to de­velop new coating de­signs and processes
  • Development and maintenance of the data infrastructure
  • Development of simulation and pre­dictive models for coating pro­cesses, focusing on material and thin-film proper­ties, as well as identi­fying optimal process para­meters
  • Project lead of research and develop­ment pro­jects related to the coating and tinting of ophthalmic lenses, in­cluding project planning, risk analysis, pro­gress tracking, and docu­men­tation
  • Collaboration with inter­disciplinary teams across materials science, physics, chemistry, and labora­tory ope­rations to connect experi­mental re­search with modeling and simu­lation activities
Your profile
  • Completed studies in Data Science, Engi­neering, Physics or Chemistry
  • Several years of pro­fessional ex­perience as a Data Scientist
  • Strong knowledge of de­veloping, vali­dating, and applying simulation models and data­bases
  • Expertise in soft­ware develop­ment, for example using Python
  • Business fluent in German and fluent in English
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Enthusiasm for collabo­rating in inter­disci­plinary teams to develop inno­vative solutions
  • Strong analytical thinking skills and a structured, in­de­pendent approach to work
  • Results-driven and communi­cative team player with a high degree of pro­activity and a hands-on mindset
